Review: The Wonderful World Of Disney On Ice

If you have been reminiscing over last year’s performance at Singapore Indoor Stadium – Disney on Ice: Magical Ice Festival, then missing out on this year’s The Wonderful World Of Disney On Ice will be your disappointment of the year!

New and more characters on stage together with all our favourite songs were live on Ice this March holiday! We attended the opening night on 15 March last Wednesday at the dazzling world of Disney On Ice! Oh boy, the show brings great memories whether you are 3 or a parent of 3 kids!

If you are not going before it ends on 19 March 2017, let’s us give you a glimpse of what happened at the opening night to tempt you further!

MICKEY & FRIENDS

What’s Disney without Mickey mouse and his friends? Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy went on a walk, down memory lane and gave a warm opening to the show as usual. They flipped open a book to find each page different stories of love stories, friendships and happy endings. Being the main narrator of the whole show they weaved all the stories together and brought on plenty of comical moments and with hints and clues of items found in the stories, engaged the audience in a guessing game of who will be appearing next! One example was when they mentioned a “flying pan” and every kid on their seats scream for  “Rapunzel!!”

GALORE OF PRINCESS

The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice brings on 5 stories of Disney princesses. We enjoyed how the fairest of them all Snow White with her 7 dwarfs teases you (Kids screaming NO!) whether or not to eat that poison apple, which she did and was eventually saved by that passer-by handsome prince.

The Little Mermaid on another hand won’t be singing her songs to her prince instead when she was exploring for treasure under the sea, Sebastian the lobster gave his best try to convince her that being comfortable deep down under the ocean isn’t that bad after all! Then Jasmine found a whole new world with Prince Alah (Aladdin) after the genie granted his wish and turned into a rich prince, the two found their new paradise by singing their famous duet on a magic carpet.

Next up, when the lanterns are lit beautifully in the sky, we found Tangled – Rapunzel searching for her own destiny out of that top tower. Last but not least, who can ever let it go with Frozen – in the

Last but not least, who can ever let it go with Frozen – in the wintry world of Arendelle with sisters Anna and Elsa, and the hilarious Olaf and Krisoff learned that true love is the greatest magic of all. Being the most anticipated of all, Frozen had the most songs sang thru out the night and HAD the longest segment compare to the other stories.

Without disappointment, we were awed when all Disney Princesses graced the stage to bid farewell to everyone including Mulan, Pocahontas, and the frog princess came onboard as well. It made that magical moment in time, the greatest memory that any little girls would ever dream of! (Ours indeed!)

SHOW FOR THE PRINCES

Disney was never only about the princesses, favourite animation of all time such as The Lion King, Toy Story, and even Finding Dory had their popular songs sang together with the excited crowd. There was Simba, Timon and Pumbaa prowling the Pridelands,  Buzz and Woody did a foot-stomping showdown, and not forgetting the adorable wide-eyed Dory finally found her parents with the help of her good friends, Nemo and his Dad, Marlin.

This year may have packed in many more shows compare to last year and the timing was rushing, but the twist and turns as the characters flipped through the air and land with grace coupled with the unforgettable songs were a fantastic family night away!
