Festive bells are ringing, many kids friendly workshops are lined up for the little ones to spend quality time with their parents. For us, we have been invited once again to Shangri-la Hotel for their merry and family-friendly Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop similar to the previous Enchanted Mushroom Easter workshop. Both workshops allowed Children to exercise their culinary creativity, craft our own confectionary masterpiece and bring it home! familystaysg-gingerbread

This time, Gingerbread House with frosting, cookies, and candy awaited us at The Line Shop on our media visit. With much regret, we came late and everyone else had already started on the decorations. Our little one hurriedly don on his mini chef’s toque and apron (which will later be given as a festive memento), and dashed straight to the candy bar area to check out what surprise the chef prepared for them!

Other than a table full of marshmallows, m&ns, sprinkles, gummy bears, frosty snowman, and Santa Claus candies, there were nutcracker soldiers lined around as well. Boosting the spirit of Christmas and festive season!familystaysg-gingerbread familystaysg-gingerbread

With kind guidance from the pretty staff, our Little one took several rounds to and fro from the candy bar, collecting the candy cups back to our table. To our surprise, we didn’t catch him stealing bites of his treats! The force is strong here!

After all was completed, with the help of a real chef, our little one gave his Gingerbread House it’s snowy effect by topping up with some frosting! Let it snow~ let it snow~ let it snow!

It may not be the best one around, but seeing his Gingerbread House all completed, made him so proud of himself.

We were grateful for all help of the pretty staff (mummy need not do any work!) so here’s a MUST TAKE picture together! Even for the workshops happening in December, have no worries if you are not sure how to start as help will always be given at Shangri-la’s (pun intented! from Harry Potter’s famous quote where “Help will always be given at Hogwarts”!)

After which or even during the workshop, parents and children can feel free to grab these festive light refreshments and drinks prepared by the Chefs (Chocolate milk, apple juice, orange juice and etc) by the cafe area. So feast on!
