We can’t be more than excited as within one month’s time, we could feast on the yummy delights! Before that,  we actually have the opportunity to do such indulgence with a lovely baking school located at Serangoon Gardens! Having kids, we realized the best way for them to learn about our culture is to learn how to make them!

Getting in touch withLittleBakersLab was a pleasing experience, the main baker aka lady boss, Janice gave a warm welcome when we arrived. She invited us for a parent-child baking session at her humble baking studio on the second floor of Bakers & Cook. It was a shared space with an art school as we see a few kids trotting down the stairs when we made our way up.

The class warmly began with Janice and her assistants providing each of us (both adults & child!) our appropriate sized aprons. We had 6 families in total, perfectly allocated a space on the table. With all the ingredients and baking utensils laid out neatly on the baking table for us, all we need to do is to chose where to stand. What I really like about the entire place was how open concept the studio was! Looks like everyone could comfortably share a space yet still be able to spend time together. I mean baking is definitely more fun with friends isn’t it?

Here’s our guide to the recipe! Doesn’t look liked it will be too difficult for us! Let’s do it!
Noah’s all prepared!

It has been a while since I had this solo date with Noah, and I am more than happy to be doing so while whipping up delicious snacks for everyone at home. Without the little one around this time, I was able to focus all my time and “ears” for him, and I can see he enjoys it as well.

Everyone listening to teacher Janice for instruction – especially no kids are allowed to be near the oven!
Motor skills and coordination time!
Mixing the batter with our bare hands! Make sure to mix it well!
Before putting the batter into the fridge, we got to note down our names!

What a sweet surprise, Teacher Janice bringing out their yummy cupcakes for us while we wait for the batter to cool down in the fridge. Time to decorate some cupcakes in the meantime! Where to find some thoughtful people who host such a great baking “party” aka workshop!

the cupcakes were made with love, and it tasted great!
I gave him the freedom to chose what coloring and where the edibles beads should go.
He’s mini proud moment and now its time for some indulging

Not sure how long (oh yea, 20 to 30 mins from the guide) we had the batter out and roll all of it into this round looking dough.  Looking liked a ball to start with!

Check out the color of our dough, already looking yummy before we even bake it!
Steven from ThePerfectFater always helping everyone with the photos, thanks!

That moment when we exercised teamwork – Noah would help me to pinch the dough into smaller doughs, and I would shape the ears and nose, as well as apply the sesame as its eyes. Meanwhile, teacher Janice and her super nice assistants would promptly walk around the table to give further guidance to everyone. Without her, I wouldn’t have known how to put on the piggy’s eyes justs by using toothpicks!

Eyes, Ears, and Nose all Done!

Time to send the entire tray to the oven! Noah loves baking, especially cookies but I guess now he found his new favorite recipe.

After a nice 20mins (of mummies chit chatting and kids running around), our alarm rang and we had these babes out freshly from the oven! It looks liked we did a good job sharing the same tray with Xinci (from @xincilovesyou).

The best part of the day? We got to bring back the 10 pieces of handmade with love, mini adorable piggies! The reason for the great taste had to contribute to the Baker’s commitment to using premium pineapple fillings.

Thank You LittleBakersLab for this fun and enriching experience! Can’t wait to head back for more interesting parent-child workshops in the future! The best part of this workshop is we don’t need to worry about cleaning and preparation of the ingredient. The bakers were really nice people, and they have worked with many children. Considering they have really pocket- friendly pricing for their parent-child workshop.

We heard only a few slots left so hurry book your slot now!!!!

ARE YOU KEEN TO GIVE THIS WORKSHOP A TRY WITHOUT FUSSING OVER THE PREPARATION OF THE INGREDIENTS ON YOUR OWN WHILE YOU BOND WITH YOUR KIDS?
